The children's program at Gawler Baptist Church is called SMYG which is just a funny name for our Sunday School. It means: Sunday Morning Youth Group.
Our aim and purpose for SMYG is to minister God’s love to the young people of our church community. Showing them how Jesus can lead them in their daily lives and how God’s Holy Spirit can empower them.
Our staff consists of volunteers who love kids and have a heart to see them learn about and grow in their relationship with Jesus.
GBC adheres to the Child Protection policies of Baptist Churches of SA.
SMYG is for any young people from kindy age on. We join with the church for worship as a family and then we leave for our own special time together as a whole group in the SMYG room. Then we break into groups for lesson/activity time.
We do not have SMYG during school holidays choosing to have the opportunity for all age services.
We are very grateful for all the people helping in SMYG. If you would like further information, please contact the SMYG coordinator Maureen Woolford.
